East Liberty-based housing startup Module completed its first mixed-income housing development on Black Street in Garfield.
The development includes four units- one multi-family duplex home and two single family homes, according to Module CEO Brian Gaudio. Module designs and builds modular houses that can easily expand over time.
Gaudio said the Garfield homes mark the first project Module worked on as a developer, rather than only as designer or home builder for clients. He said it also marks the first time the startup delivered affordable, for-sale housing, which it did with in collaboration with Pittsburgh Urban Redevelopment Authority programs.
